Frequently Asked Questions

Registration

Registration for the 2027 MSF Conference will open in Q1 2027. Check back for more details!

Airport and Transportation

The Pittsburgh International Airport is the closest airport to the conference location.

It is approximately 19 miles from the airport to the hotel. Car rentals and ride sharing services are available at the airport. Ride sharing services (Uber/Lyft) are approximately $40, and the drive will take 25 – 30 minutes.

There is a bus service from the airport to downtown Pittsburgh ($2.75/ticket), and from there, you can take the light rail to the Station Square station. It is then a 10 minute walk to the hotel. This way, while cheaper, is more complicated, and we recommend using an alternate mode of transportation to the hotel.

Scholarships

Scholarships for first-time attendees and those with financial needs will be available when Registration opens in early 2027. Please check back for more information at that time.

Conference Scholarships

The Moebius Syndrome Foundation typically offers scholarships to a limited number of first-time attendees with a financial need. Additional financial need scholarships may be available to a limited number of individuals and families.

Applications will open in Q1 2027. We highly recommend applying as soon as possible because scholarships typically go quickly. Please sign-up for our e-newsletters and follow us on social media, so you are in the know when these applications open!

Why should YOU attend the conference?

See what attendees of past conferences have shared about their experiences.
  • “Having a rare syndrome like Moebius makes it very hard to connect with most people. When I go to the Moebius Conference, I feel like I’m in a place of love and acceptance. I am so grateful to the Moebius Syndrome Foundation Team for creating a scholarship opportunity to allow me to attend the conference.”

  • “This conference was life changing for me, not only did it equip me with the knowledge and skills, I walked away with a lot more understanding and acceptance of my challenges as a person living with Moebius syndrome. Being surrounded with people who look like me, talk like me, and face similar challenges I face was an unforgettable experience for me. My confidence and self- esteem have gotten better and I have a reason to stay strong.”

  • “It was truly an experience that I’ll never forget. I’ve never felt so welcomed in a community before and I can’t believe it happened within a week. I met so many friends and made so many connections. It’s a family that actually accepts me for who I am and I don’t have to hide anything and be a different person. I’m really glad I came out and got a different perspective and it’s really the most fun I ever had in my life.”

  • “What I absolutely love about the Moebius Syndrome Foundation conferences is that they are a celebration of being your authentic self. Whether you are an introvert, extrovert, ambivert, free spirit or free agent, you are valued and appreciated!!”

  • “The very best part of this conference was being able to connect with our people! Watching the Moebius family share joy and pain, hugs, smiles from their hearts, and a level of acceptance unknown in their everyday lives was priceless and unforgettable.”

  • “This past weekend, we spent every second, every minute, and every hour with NO judgment, NO stares, NO uncomfortableness. Every amazing person we encountered just GOT it. They understood the struggles, the setbacks, and the confusion associated with this syndrome, and they listened and shared in every moment together. They also shared their triumphs and victories, and we saw how talented each person is.”

  • “I could go on and on about how this extraordinary convention has filled a void I didn’t even know was there. It doesn’t matter how many conferences we attend, there is always something new to gain and learn. We all truly get each other. There is no judgment, just genuine love, unlimited support, and true camaraderie.”

  • “This was the first Moebius conference that I attended. I am a grandmother of a granddaughter who has Moebius and I wanted to find out more about this. I met so many wonderful people who shared their stories and I saw the camaraderie that my granddaughter has with so many of her friends who have Moebius. No need to be shy or feel you may not want to go to a Moebius conference because you won’t fit in but let me tell you you will. You will be embraced by some of the most loving people and you will leave feeling uplifted and with so many new friends that you will want to keep in contact with.”

  • “I feel the Moebius Syndrome Foundation Conference is an outstanding way for adults and children with Moebius syndrome to connect. I’d never met another person with Moebius syndrome until I was in my early thirties and went to my first conference around 2002. Having the ability to meet others with our condition is vitally important since many of us otherwise feel isolated from our peers. It was great to be a mentor to some of our members as well as learn other lessons about Moebius syndrome we might not have otherwise been privy to had we not attended the conference.”

  • “The conference has opened up my perspective of Moebius Syndrome, it has helped me better understand the condition that I was born with. I walked away as a different person. I walk away showing more appreciation to those helping people like myself with improving our life – from doctors, nurses, dentists, teachers, speech language pathologists, and many more. I find going to the conference is not only beneficial for those with Moebius, but for parents, family members, doctors, educators as it helps broaden understanding of what the individual faces or may face in future. From educational sessions, to small group outings, or game nights, everyone has a place at conference they can feel welcomed. Moebius conferences help you find new friends and a community where YOU BELONG!”

  • “Watching my daughter with Moebius syndrome come alive at the conference is everything to me. She is thoroughly and unapologetically herself when she’s in the midst of her community. I am so thankful to the MSF for making this place for her to connect and belong.”
