After careful evaluation of currently available information, including information and directives from health and medical experts and federal, local and state governmental agencies and departments, the Moebius Syndrome Foundation Board of Directors (MSF Board) made the difficult decision to cancel the 14th Moebius Syndrome Foundation Conference to be held in Minneapolis, Minnesota this July.
While it is disappointing to cancel our conference, which is our premier event and the best way for our community to be together, the MSF Board feels this is the best way to proceed during this uncertain global pandemic situation. We are very disappointed that we are unable to currently hold this event for our Moebius community, but we know it’s the right decision based on the information we have today.
We are in discussions with the hotel about potentially rescheduling the conference for next Summer, but we don’t have enough information yet to determine whether that will happen. As we are sure you understand, this is an uncertain time for the hotel as well, and we are only one of many events that they are being forced to reschedule.
As always, the health and safety of our Moebius family is of paramount importance to us. Also, of great importance is for us to continue to serve our community, creating ways to connect, collaborate and help keep us growing stronger together during this difficult period. The Moebius Syndrome Foundation Conference Committee and Board of Directors are working hard on the development of exciting future projects for our community and will make announcements of things to come as soon as things are more concrete.
To those that have already registered for the conference, you will receive a full refund. To receive a refund, you don’t need to do anything additional. We will initiate the refund processes on our end. Please allow our system up to two weeks to process refunds and reverse charges back to your credit card. You will receive a separate cancellation email confirming actions have been put into place once we have initiated this process. Your understanding is appreciated. To cancel or modify your hotel reservations at the Marriott Minneapolis Northwest, please access your reservation at https://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/mspnw-minneapolis-marriott-northwest/ and click on “My Trips” in the top right hand of the page. You may also call the reservations department directly at (763) 536-8300. Those with reservations have until 48 hours of the date of check-in to cancel and receive refunds. We would encourage you not to delay.
Please notify your airlines and travel insurance company if you intend to cancel or modify your travel plans. Many companies have temporarily changed their cancellation policies and are being much more lenient by offering future rebooking credits and some are honoring refunds due to travel restrictions and advisaries. Please look into your reservations right away.
