Tell us your name and position (executive committee, staff, board member).
Tara, Board Member
Why is it important for you to serve on the Board of Directors?
My strengths are Maximizer, Connectedness, and Individualization – I like to see where things
can be improved, bring new ideas, and I see the strengths in others. I see it as an opportunity
to make a difference, connect, and understand the community better.
What does the Moebius Syndrome Foundation mean to you, personally?
It is a community where I have found commonality with others related to my facial differences
that I did not find when I was younger.
What might the Moebius Syndrome Foundation community be interested to learn about you?
Although I was diagnosed at one point, I don’t have Moebius syndrome. I have a wide variety of
hobbies. I love to read, tap dance, knit, crochet, paint, draw, and bake. I’ve dabbled in aerial
arts. I’m a certified Career Transition Coach. I have two cats. I grew up in Oklahoma.
What do you want the Moebius syndrome community to know about the Board of Directors and what we do?
I want the community to know that we welcome and advocate for everyone. We work to create
resources, further an understanding of Moebius syndrome in both the medical fields and the
broader population, and seek to develop engagement opportunities, and strengthen our
community.
Anything else you would like to add? Any long term goals for the Foundation? Can community members reach out to you if they have any questions or comments about the Foundation/ideas they may have?
Yes, they can reach out to me. Long term goals – Moebius syndrome is widely known about and
understood. The elimination of assumptions about anyone’s capability based on disability.
