Why is it important for you to serve on the Board of Directors?
The opportunity to serve on the Board of Directors is important to me because it allows me to give back to the Moebius community. As a child and teenager, I was not involved with the Foundation, but would have loved to connect with individuals who could offer advice and help me navigate those years. As an adult, I want to be a resource for others and let them know that they can rise to the challenges that come our way.
What does the Moebius Syndrome Foundation mean to you, personally?
It is a home away from home. The MSF has connected me with so many wonderful friends, families, and even my wife! I can’t imagine not having the MSF in my life.
What might the Moebius Syndrome Foundation community be interested to learn about you?
I was a shy child and teenager who was socially awkward and did not like public speaking. Also, I lived in San Diego, CA for 2 years. Lastly, I am a VHS collector and currently have 400+ tapes in my basement!
What do you want the Moebius syndrome community to know about the Board of Directors and what we do?
The Board of Directors is comprised of individuals who have a passion for the Moebius community. We all volunteer our time (and sometimes resources) because we want to spread awareness and help others. We take our roles seriously and are always excited to hear from people in the community!
Anything else you would like to add? Any long term goals for the Foundation? Can community members reach out to you if they have any questions or comments about the Foundation/ideas they may have?
I hope to see you at a future conference! Please reach out with any questions or comments. I love to hear from people in the community.
